Grooves or integrated grab rails in the washbasin
Concealed grooves or integrated grab rails make it easier to pull up a wheelchair and also provide support and stability when standing. The washbasins are wheelchair-accessible and offer greater legroom.
Villeroy & Boch’s elongated toilets provide greater freedom of movement and comfort. The special height of the toilet allows easier transition from a wheelchair.
Special grooves in toilet seats
The groove around the edge of the toilet lid facilitates opening and closing. The reduced gap between the lid and ceramic reduces unpleasant odours.
By combining the three technologies of DirectFlush, CeramicPlus and AntiBac, Villeroy & Boch offers a safe and reliable solution for accessible bathrooms.
Why Villeroy & Boch?
Attention to detail: quality from Villeroy & Boch.
Our rimless toilets
Rimless toilets ensure the best possible hygiene in the bathroom. The rim is often a magnet for germs and bacteria. In a rimless toilet, concealed nozzles flush the entire inner bowl to prevent any adherence of residue. A safe and reliable solution for a clean accessible bathroom.
CeramicPlus makes it very easy and efficient to clean toilets. Water simply rolls off the high-quality surface. Dirt and limescale have almost no chance to adhere to the toilet bowl. As well as saving water, cleaning products and precious time, this also ensures a very hygienic and clean result.
Durable and robust
Villeroy & Boch has been developing ceramics since 1748. The company draws on this experience to produce high-quality and very easy-care washbasins with excellent hygiene properties that maintain their shine even after many years of use. One major advantage is the extra-thick glaze that makes surfaces resistant to impacts and scratches
Slip-resistant shower trays
The slip resistance of the shower trays in Villeroy & Boch's range has been tested and rated as either anti-slip class B - offering good slip resistance - or anti-slip class C with optimum slip resistance. The surfaces are still easy to clean and have the same attractive appearance.
The innovative AntiBac surface has been proven to reduce the growth of bacteria in the toilet by more than 99.9% and provides effortless lasting protection in the bathroom. This also makes it an ideal choice for bathrooms with strict requirements for hygiene and cleanliness.
Many of our washbasins are glazed underneath, to allow easier and more thorough cleaning. All ceramic products also have an extra-thick glaze. All our products are glazed twice to make our bathroom ceramics very robust and shiny.

The main features of accessible bathrooms are sufficient freedom of movement, secure grip and comfort functions for people with reduced mobility. Movement areas of 150 x 150 centimetres make Villeroy & Boch bathrooms ideal for wheelchair users. For detailed information, refer to our brochure.
In addition to sufficient movement areas, bathroom washing areas must be designed to allow them to be used from a seated position - for example, a wheelchair - and offer adequate legroom. Click here for more information.
You can find a precise list of requirements for an accessible bathroom according to DIN standards here.
What requirements apply to accessible shower areas? Floor-flush showers not only facilitate access but also ensure greater freedom of movement in the bathroom. In compliance with DIN 18040, it must also be possible to use accessible shower areas with a wheelchair or walking frame. The relevant movement areas are the key factor. Follow our cleaning and care tips to ensure lasting pleasure with your Villeroy & Boch products.
Villeroy & Boch ceramic sanitaryware has a smooth, dense and virtually scratch-proof surface that is resistant to all common household acids and alkalis. Clean water and a damp cloth are often all you need for everyday care. Water marks, residual grease or soap can be removed easily using a bathroom cleaner or vinegar-based cleaning product. If you would like to avoid "chemicals" entirely, you can use household vinegar or diluted vinegar essence to quickly remove limescale marks.
For everyday care, we recommend a soft, non-scratch sponge or cloth. If you wish to use a cleaning product, choose a standard all-purpose cleaner.
Do not use aggressive, abrasive or environmentally harmful products. In the case of very stubborn dirt, simply leave the bathroom cleaner or limescale remover to act overnight.
Gel or foam cleaners are ideal, as they also adhere well to sloping surfaces. Or: simply place a cloth soaked in cleaning agent over the stain.
CeramicPlus is resistant to all common household acids and alkalis (including cosmetic products and medicines containing solvents, alcohol or acetone). Like all ceramic surfaces, CeramicPlus will be damaged by repeated use of the following products: scouring creams or powders, concentrated drain cleaners, tap and steel cleaners or bleaches containing chlorine.
